“TOO MUCH PUSSY!

Lesbiennes, Bisexuelles. Queers.
Pin-up vintage, Punkettes, Teenagers, Androgynes, Drag Kings, Femmes Fatales, Girls next door …

Oh yeah ..» Second Sexe Magasine

«Intéressant, poétique, et surtout très HOT! Le Queer X Show a séduit nos petites mirettes affolées.» Yagg (M.Mister)

Opening 29. Mai 2010 at 6 p.m.

After Show Party: DJ Stefan Havoc – 80s electro pop

Gallery Ulf Saupe presents the first solo exhibition in Berlin of the young American artist Melissa Steckbauer. The exhibition “I, the Hunter” showcases a new series of paintings on small paper formats and large canvases. Her paintings touch on intimate, sexually charged moments and fantasies. The opening takes place on the 29th of May 2010 at 6 p.m. in Ulf Saupe Gallery on Torstrasse 75.

Fable characters, people of daily life and exaggerated caricatures find their way into her works. The artist dramatizes and disarms the situations at the same moment. Through the infantilization of the main characters and through the tenderness in her paintings Steckbauer engages the human need for closeness.

Tickets Available @ www.brownpapertickets.com

An ‘availabilist’ performance art installation investigating intimacy, shame and the blessed beast of huge love.
A sequence of interactive games, symbiotic rituals and swell treats traveling through the theater space.
This show is the completion of an AIRspace Residency
part of the ongoing project Teaching Myself to Love
(unfortunately not wheelchair accessible)

Prove You’re Not a Robot is a lo-tech performance art installation collaborative conspiracy between Sadie Lune and Lula Mae Day. An investigation into mutual and consensual revelation; we’ll share an evolving succession of explicit playground games, expository interviews, improvisational trances and of course, treats.
Using the ‘availabilist’ aesthetic of found objects from everyday life, the whole rigmarole will snake through the physical space of the Garage theater as it progressively delves deeper into the artists’ manifestations of curiosity, vulnerability, neurosis, transcendence, and ultimately the blessed beast of huge love.

Take a trip with us through five layers of mutating dynamics between artist and audience, from spectacle to choose your own adventure. Wander through the dissonance of exterior perceptions and interior landscapes. Hold our hands while we pull the covers off of shame, sexuality, and faith. Roll up your sleeves while we grapple with depression, hypocrisy, and intimacy. Prepare for a catch and release while we try to get a handle on time, boundaries, and compassion.

For weeks before the public performance the artists will engage in multifaceted symbiotic ritual focusing on practices of commitment including cohabitation, sober altered states, physical attachment and co-dependent sensory deprivation, you know, the works.

Thanks to the extreme magic of multi-talented illustrator, musician, code wrangler and web designer Star St. Germain (www.thisisstar.com) I present to you: my new website!
Welcome.

If you happen to be in the market for a web designer I cannot recommend Star highly enough! She is super-patient with the tech fearful, unsavvy, or luddistic, so I can only imagine how great she would be with someone who already knows how to bang a 0 and a 1 together. She’s a great teacher, I seriously have learned so much about the internets from working with her.
But! even if you don’t need the coddling I appreciate from all service providers, she is just a damn good designer and will make your shit look and work badass. Star drew the illustration on the top of my site and interpreted all of my bizarre requests with aplomb. She’s hot, sweet, sharp as a tack and wonderful to work with. Now I’m writing basic html and uploading videos and shit, just like the rest of all 10 year olds. I am super grateful to her for helping me realize a fucking five year dream, finally pulling me into net society, relieve my intense web-related shame, and do the impossible thing no other trusted friend could do (aka talk me into twitter). So hazzah to her!
Star is the bomb…one of those chocolate ones filled with ganache.
